Comedian Carol Leifer is one of the contestants on Celebrity Apprentice 3, which debuts on NBC March 14 at 9/8 c.
Leifer, who became a vegan last year, has decided to donate the $250,000 to Long Island North Shore Animal League if she wins the top prize.
“There is a huge pet overpopulation crisis in this country,” Leifer says in the video where she discusses her chosen charity. “Four million cats and dogs are euthanized every year. And as far as I’m concerned, that’s four million too many.”
Practicing what she preaches, Leifer and her partner have a total of seven rescue animals.
