Heather Mills No Burger Queen After All

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, March 24th, 2009 in Business, Food & Drink, Models, Restaurants.

Heather Mills has a bad hair day in New York

My, my how rumors get started.

The one we told you earlier about Heather Mills signing a multi-million dollar contract with Burger King to promote their new vegan burger? Nah, not true.

Heather has denied being the spokesperson for such a campaign, but says she’d love to do one.

Are you listening Burger King?

Heather’s manager told WENN, “The Burger King story isn’t true.”

“Heather hasn’t been paid three million but she would love to get vegan burgers or any vegan food out there via any avenue possible and Burger King would be a great place to begin.”

Heather Mills works on her new vegan restaurant

Not that we are encouraging anyone to gawk at Heather Mills‘ chest, but if you look closely at the shirt she’s wearing in this picture, you’ll see the phrase, “Vegan” and “No body gets hurt.”

Heather wore this lovely piece of fashion recently while on site at her new vegan restaurant, currently the old Big Fish cafe, near her home in the UK.

Thom Yorke, You, And The Lights Out

51st Annual Grammy Awards - Show

On Saturday, March 28th at 8:30 PM, Earth Hour will take place.

People all around the world will turn off their lights for an hour, taking a stand for reducing carbon emissions.

If you plan to turn your lights out, why not invite Radiohead’s vegan Thom Yorke to spend time in the dark with you? Musically, that is. Don’t know what you were thinking.

GreenLivingOnline.com has compiled a list of top earth friendly musicians you can put on your playlist for the evening, including Radiohead.

“Not that we need more reasons to love Thom Yorke and Radiohead, but the U.K. band is also striving to reduce carbon emissions. When touring overseas, band members transport their gear via sea and avoid chartered flights. Recently, they stayed home and telecommuted to Late Night with Conan O’Brian rather than flying. Yorke is also a long-time vegan and his solo album, The Eraser, speaks directly to climate crisis issues. radiohead.com “

We’re sure Fake Plastic Trees degrade much faster than real plastic ones. Go Radiohead!

Other green musicians on the list include pescetarian KT Tunstall, who hangs out in her green designed home when she’s not on the road, and the Beastie Boys, who use biofuel on tour and participate in cell phone recycling programs.

Russell Brand To Have Hot, Veggie Date With Lisa Simpson?

Russell Brand Signs Copies Of Russell Brand: My Booky Wook

Executive producers of The Simpsons, James L Brooks and Al Jean, would like to write comedian and actor Russell Brand in the cartoon show.

Al Jean said Brand was “very funny”, and added, “I would definitely be interested in writing an episode around him.”

In addition to Brand, Brooks and Jean want President Obama too.

We’re thinking Brand could have a date with Lisa Simpson.

After all, they both follow the same diet, and Brand wouldn’t be the first vegetarian celebrity Lisa meets on the show while dodging Homer’s love for lamb chops.

It was the help of Paul and Linda McCartney that helped Lisa maintain her veggie lifestyle in carnivorous loving Springfield.

It’s high time Lisa found herself a veggie mate. We just can’t picture her having dinner every evening with Milhouse.

So we know model Evelina Zdunczyk is the queen of vegan and eco-friendly handbags.

But did you know most of her models are too. From Sbsnyc:

“The statuesque, Blonde, rose-lipped, blue-eyed beauty CEO of Vegan Queen, Evelina Zdunczyk, is proud to boast that most of her models are, in fact, vegans. This is the first thing she tells me. Then in a dreamy tone, Evelina expresses her gratitude to be able to showcase her vegan bags in a cohesive idea of this particular space, with these particular models, on this particular day. “It is all about sharing love, is it not?” With this ideal notion still lingering in the air, Evelina is swept away by her assistant, and I am left wondering if her pin-straight Platinum strands were eco-processed…”

Pure coincidence? Or does Evelina seek out employees that practice what she preaches?

Travis McCoy One Crabby Vegetarian

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, March 24th, 2009 in Food & Drink, Male Singers, Not So Vegetarian.

MTV Europe Music Awards 2008: VIP Arrivals

Much confusion in the land of blogging.

Gym Class Heroes front man Travis McCoy revealed his favorite spots to hang while in New York.

One such place is Curly’s, which makes sense, considering Travis says he’s been a vegetarian for the past 5 years.

Another joint you might find him in is City Crab. And when asked the reason he frequented there, his reply was, “I go to eat crab legs, bro. Copious and disgusting amounts of it.”

Is Travis  one of those crabby pescetarians?

Now granted, Travis is known for his bizarre humor, as he once said his last meal on earth would be a dinosaur burger to compensate for the fact that he’s been abstaining from meat for so long.

And it’s kind of strange he would mention both a vegetarian and seafood restaurant as two of his faves.

Ever read about him munching on a sea kitten? Is he just joking around? Chime in and let us know what you think!
