Tiffani Thiessen has a new Cooking Channel show, Dinner at Tiffani’s, which features the actress known well for the late 90s/early 80s teenage series Saved By the Bell.

Dinner at Tiffani’s is not likely to be too vegetarian–from the looks of her website she’s cooking all the meaty items she craved during her first pregnancy that made her give up vegetarianism.

But she did stop by TODAY to demonstrate a couple of recipes she considers comfort food, including her Homemade Roasted Tomato Soup.

Tiffani Thiessen “Eat Humane” WSPA Campaign (Video)

Written by Vegetarian Star on Thursday, April 15th, 2010 in Actresses, Animal Issues, Food & Drink, Videos.

Tiffani Thiessen has partnered with the World Society for the Protection of Animals to spread the word about the organization’s Eat Humane Campaign.

The campaign is meant to educate the public to read food labels to determine if meat, poultry, and dairy was produced humanely.

“Look for cage-free eggs, free-range poultry or grass fed meat,” Thiessen says in the PSA above.

The White Collar actress feels that by doing so, everyone can make a difference in the lives of animals, whether they eat meat or not.

“Eating doesn’t have to be black and white – eat meat or be a vegetarian,” she said in a press release. “The more important thing is that you should make educated choices when buying your food, which can be confusing and misleading with the food labeling system. It is hard to know what you are really purchasing and that is why I filmed this PSA – I wanted to help WSPA inform people about what the labels really mean.”

USA Presents The White Collar Shirt Bar

Tiffani Thiesen has fallen to the call of the cow and is blaming it all on her in utero growth.

She only has three months left until her first child is due.

At the USA Network and Vanity Fair bash in New York, she told People magazine, “I was a vegetarian for many, many, many years and all of a sudden I started to crave red meat.”

If that’s not enough to send a vegetarian mother into early labor, Tiffani revealed she had just devoured some animal before making her grand public appearance.

“Crazy enough, I had a steak before I left tonight and I would never have eaten one before. One day I just woke up and craved meat.”

Crazy, indeed.

One study published in Hypertension found children of women who consumed a diet high in animal protein and low in carbohydrates had higher blood pressure as adults.

Hopefully, in three months Tiffani will be back on the veggie wagon and little baby will never be forced to eat pureed beanie weenies when it starts to show some incisors.
