Kirsten Dunst–Lost In Fur Translation

Nordstrom & Vogue Host Quicktake : Rodarte Exhibition Opening Party

Kirsten Dunst attended the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum’s Rodarte exhibit where the NY Post was able to catch her thoughts on the fur explosion at New York Fashion Week.

“You know what, I don’t hate on people that wear fur, obviously, but I just, as an actress I know that I repre — like, people go, ‘Oh, she looks cool in that,’ and it’s not my fave. I don’t want animals being killed for — it’s not my favorite thing.”

That’s quite a mouthful to take in, but the Veg Star thinks Kirsten meant something like this:

KD: You know what, I don’t hate on people that wear fur
Translation: I won’t throw paint on you if you wear fur

KD: as an actress I know that I repre — like
Translation: I don’t want to set a bad example by wearing fur

KD: people go, ‘Oh, she looks cool in that,’ and it’s not my fave
Translation: She looks really ugly in that. Some people have really bad taste in fashion.

KD: I don’t want animals being killed for — it’s not my favorite thing
Translation: Killing animals for fur is just wrong. Period.

Rachel Zoe Faux Fur Vest

Rachel Zoe Faux Fur Vest

Although her assistant still thinks vegan shoes are made from mashed potatoes and cauliflower, Rachel Zoe at least knows fur vests should be made from synthetic material and not animal hide.

That’s why she’s designed these especially made for QVC faux fur vests.

These debuted at New York Fashion Week last month, and sell for under $130, featuring a wing collar and six hidden hook and eye closures.

You can view Rachel’s other faux fur designs at QVC.com.

Be sure to catch Rachel on QVC on Saturday, October 10 at 1PM ET for the Accessorizing With Rachel Zoe segment.

Ben Harper makes us wanna steal some kisses from him.

Harper was in New York for Fashion Week recently showing his new clothing line with actor David Arquette, Propr.

Harper and Arquette were discussing the logo for Propr’s clothing line-three owls-over food and Harper decided to pass on the beer and burgers and opt for vegetarian chili instead.

Rumors have circulated that Ben is a vegetarian, but not much in confirmation.

As for why Arquette and Harper chose three owls?

“Owls have a great mythology, they’re mystical, they’re mysterious — and no one had claimed the owl,” Arquette said. “Except for Hooters.”

“We’re taking the owl back,” Harper said.

Eating lean veggie chili will help anyone look better in owls-even a Hooters girl.

“I’ve always been anti-fur – I love my pets…and I could never see them being worn. It’s a very human time right now, and what’s the sense in more carnage? There are other things in life to celebrate and design doesn’t have to be draped with dead animals.”

Victoria recently partnered with the Humane Society of the United States to distribute anti-fur literature and buttons at her Spring/Summer 2010 runway show this past weekend as part of New York Fashion Week.
