During an interview with Details magazine, Tyson reveals he won’t even cheat for his formerly beloved Baby Ruth and that meat is the new poison.

Details: So you’re going to go the rest of your life without eating a candy bar?
Mike Tyson: Maybe so. I’m pretty fucking extreme.

Details: Not even a Baby Ruth?
Mike Tyson: Oh, man, that’s the best. Chocolate and peanuts. Nah. I ate, like, the tiniest piece of meat, and I woke up violently sick. It was vicious pain. I was throwing up. And I realized meat’s become a poison for me now.

Mike Tyson joins his family for dinner at Mr Chow in West Hollywood

Mike Tyson‘s interview with the YES Network’s Center Stage airs tomorrow night.

Previous gossip has already revealed Tyson’s announcement that he’s vegan, and here’s a little more explanation from the interview preview.

“I’m a vegan. I don’t eat anything. I’m starving myself, but in order to live I have to die. I feel awesome, and it’s scary.”

Vegans might at first get upset that Tyson’s comment is saying a vegan diet means not eating anything that taste good or it means you’re hungry all the time, but it’s important to note Tyson says he does feel “awesome.”

Plus, he may be on a temporary very restrictive diet until he resolves some health issues, hence the “in order to live,” statement.

Although animal rights activists have criticized his Animal Planet show about pigeon racing, Take On Tyson, it was his love for his possessions that drew him to fighting to begin with.

“I come from this really macho area, so they take my money, take my pigeons, and one day a friend of mine said, “fight back.” And I fought. I had a high-pitched voice, I was really obesely overweight, and so I would never go to school. But, this guy: took one of my pigeons, and my friend said “fight him.” I fought him, and I don’t know, I guess I beat him up and stuff.”

Lesson learned: Don’t ever mess with man’s pigeons! That guy’s lucky he kept his ear.
