Pope Benedict XVI Should Green His Ride Says PETA

The Pope is not as brash as Mercedes-Benz is, so he doesn’t go around bragging about the number of dead animals it took to make the popemobile. But that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t consider trying to eliminate the dead animals that go into it.

PETA has taken the time to write to Pope Benedict XVI, asking him to request the next car the automobile company makes for him to travel in be manufactured without leather.

The Conservation’s ShadeFund is a new program designed to raise capital for small loans to green businesses.

Mercedes-Benz has graciously taken the step to be the first business to pledge to lend between 10-12 loans to green companies in the next 1-2 years, the first two being an organic farm that sells herbs and vegetables and a company that gathers wood from downed trees and turns it into furniture. Loan sizes will range from $5,000-$25,000, depending on the project.

Lady Gaga and her smelly meat dress may have launched a repulsive trend in fashion.

The New York Daily News reports that designer Jeremy Scott showcased a model in a bustier and matching skirt that appeared to be made from prosciutto at Scott’s Spring 2011 fashion show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

The dried ham look isn’t flattering on anybody, but with so many models aiming to be stick thin, why would any of them agree to look like a pig?
