Kanye West doing the organic thing? Oh, no. What’s next? The naked PETA ad we so humbly suggested months ago?

The hip hop and rap star is rumored to be teaming up with Guru Energy Drinks, an all natural, organic beverage company to create his own line of juice.

“I express myself through music, fashion, art, and design, and that’s why I am excited to collaborate with Guru; because the brand values what I value, and I can put what inspires me into this new product,” Kanye said in a press release.

At first glance, the drink sounds legitimately vegetarian. The ingredients listed from their website for their “secret” formula is as follows.

“Sparkling water, Organic white grape juice concentrate, Organic cane juice concentrate, Lemon juice concentrate, Natural flavors, Guarana seed extract, Salt, Echinacea flower extract, Panax ginseng root extract, Ginkgo biloba leaf extract.”

“Natural flavors” is always something to be wary of, as the source is not always known, so we’ll have to do more digging once Kanye’s beverage gets closer to the refrigerator at a store near you.

Stella McCartney: Paris Fashion Week Ready-to-Wear A/W 09

Stella McCartney recently showcased her fall/winter ready-wear collection, which of course, consisted of animal-friendly  materials.

Stella’s commitment to cruelty-free wear has earned her the respect of another fellow vegetarian, singer Pink.

“She proves that you can be wildly successful and creative and still have moral values,” Pink told reporters at a post show event organized by PETA.

Such an example of the clothing that allowed Stella to retain her values were stiletto boot-cum-leggings which resembled real leather.

Guest attending the fashion show included Stella’s father, Paul McCartney, Salma Hayek, and rapper Kanye West and his girlfriend Amber Rose.

Madonna Furriest Of All: Tops Worst Dressed List

Written by Vegetarian Star on Thursday, March 5th, 2009 in Fur.

Madonna, Lourdes Leon and baby David

She may be strict when it comes to what goes into the childrens’ bodies, but on the issue of what’s outside, Madonna appears lax.

Madge was named “Worst Dressed” Celebrity of 2009 in a poll where PETA readers voted, based on the amount of animal clothing the celebs wore.

Madonna beat out other fur wearing celebs, such as Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kanye West, and Elizabeth Hurley.

From peta.org:

“When you see Madonna in fur, you realize why nobody has copied her style since 1984. We know that she’s on the prowl for a young cub, but someone needs to tell Madge that wearing fur doesn’t make you a cougar.”

You can see who else topped the list, as well as “vote again” if you don’t agree with the results at peta.org.

Kanye West Wants To Get Naked: May We Suggest For PETA

Kanye West recently announced in the February Issue of Vibe Magazine that he’s interested in posing naked because it breaks the rules and ideas of what people think hip hoppers do.

We suggest he get naked for the organization that everybody gets naked for: PETA.

He said that if other celebrities posed naked, like singer Bjork, there would be little heads turned because that’s what expected of those in that genre.

“If she [Bjork] wanted to pose naked, you’d be like, ‘Oh, that’s Björk.’ But if I wanted to pose naked, people would draw all type of things into it. I definitely feel like, in the next however many years, if I work out for two months, that I’ll pose naked. I break every rule and mentality of hip-hop, of black culture, of American culture.”

Yep, Kanye could swear off wearing animals and show his buns like he’s always wanted. Not to mention the fact that he’d be breaking more stereotypes as usually women take off their clothes for PETA.

Possible Ad Slogan: Only Golddiggers Wear Fur. I’d Rather Go Naked Than Date One.

Kanye West Brings Fat Boca Burger To Chicago Fatburger Fans

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, August 19th, 2008 in Food & Drink, Male Musicians, Male Singers.

Kanye West -Book Signing

He ain’t nothing but a burger digger.

Kanye West is giving Fatburger boys in Chai Town the option of a veggie burger. Well, maybe he’s not specifically offering veggie burgers, but he’s become the owner of 10 Fatburger Franchises in the Chicago area.

Besides the usual fare of greasy, bloody Baby Fat and Kingburgers, Fatburger also offers a Boca Burger. While this probably won’t convert Fatburger’s loyal flesh lovers, at least it does provide some healthier options. We don’t know the details about how a Fatburger Boca Burger is cooked (on the same grill as meat or not), so this may or not please all vegetarians.

The first restaurant is set to open in Orland Park in September.
