When Josh Radnor wants something to eat in San Francisco, he can always count on some good friends to fill him up with food that’s wholesome, delicious and vegan.

Of course, he’s gotta pay these friends, because they run a chain of vegan restaurants in the Bay area called Cafe Gratitude.

“I go to San Francisco a few times a year,” Radnor said. “I have very great friends there. Some of my very dear friends own a bunch of cafes there that just now opened in LA called Cafe Gratitude.”

'How I Met Your Mother' 100th Episode Celebration Beverly Hills

There’s nothing more uncomfortable for the rest of the friends and family than when bachelor Cassanova invites the girl he met two nights ago to a wedding or family reunion.

On a recent episode of How I Met Your Mother, titled “Say Cheese,” Josh Radnor‘s character, Ted Mosby, is painfully reminded by Lily (Alyson Hannigan) that he has a tendency to bring wacky girlfriends to important events.

Specifically, Lily doesn’t want any more random skanks in the group photos and she forces Ted to take a trip down “Random Skank Lane.”

One random skank was a vegetarian hippie girl named Strawberry who threw red paint on the chef at the dinner table and yelled, “Meat is Murder,” when Marshall (Jason Segel) passed the bar exam.

Strawberry had good intentions.

Words of wisdom for a potential date if you might not yet be promoted from the ranks of random skanks.

Kindly say “I’m a vegetarian,” and be prepared to politely answer any questions about your lifestyle without belittling anyone or staining their shirt.

Paley Center For Media Celebrates How I Met Your Mother 100th Episode

Alyson Hannigan is quite the locavore.

If she can’t find the produce she wants at the nearby Farmers Market, she’ll go straight to her backyard.

“We go to the farmers market all the time,” she told Mother Nature Network. “We’re putting in an organic garden to grow things I can’t get at the farmers market.”

What does the How I Met Your Mother actress plan to put in her soil?

“We’ll do unusual lettuces and a particular kind of cucumber and a lot of different herbs.”

No pesticides, no fuel used in transport, no worrying about double bagging the produce so your eco-friendly laundry detergent doesn’t accidentally season your red leaf lettuce.

Backyard organic gardening sounds like the way to go!

Alyson Hannigan was a guest on Gordon Ramsay‘s Cookalong Live show where she, LeAnn Rimes, Cedric the Entertainer and Ramsay made some really ugly steak.

But steak’s not cute, so Alyson will eat it.

“I don’t eat cute things,” Alyson says, when Ramsay asks her about vegetarianism around minute 4:18 in the video. “I’m a cute-a-tarian…Anything I want as a pet, I won’t eat it.”

Does Alyson even remember where steak comes from? Who wouldn’t want an adorable cow as an animal companion…as long as the landlord’s pet deposit wasn’t too high.

The How I Met Your Mother actress was a vegan before getting pregnant and experiencing strong cravings for meat.
