Gordon Ramsay‘s reality TV show that featured him touring India, Gordon’s Great Escape, was supposed to highlight Indian food while positively exposing the rich culture of the country.

But things took a negative turn when more than 100 viewers complained about Ramsay’s behavior from a recent episode of Great Escape, which featured him making fun of both Indian culture and vegetarian food.

The F Word and Hell’s Kitchen star met a chef who tried to teach him to cook vegetarian.

However, he failed to show respect for both Indian vegetarian food and culture.

Ramsay, who claimed he had never eaten a dish without meat said, “When I first saw him I thought he was Father Christmas. But I don’t dig all the stuff about the food. I respect carrots, fine, but they’re not living to keep us happy.”

One reader wrote in response to Gordon’s behavior on OneIndia.com:  “I thought Gordon’s Great Escape was offensive and disrespectful! The Father Christmas comment about the guru was uncalled for. His swearing was disgusting.”

Gordon Ramsay Says No Nut Roast–“Gordon’s Great Escape”

As previously reported, Gordon Ramsay took a tour of India last year to film his reality TV show, Gordon’s Great Escape.

Gordon’s Great Escape featured much vegetarian cooking and given the Hell’s Kitchen chef’s history of negative comments about the food, some wondered how Ramsay would react in the land of veggies and curry.

Apparently, some of the experiences weren’t stimulating enough.

“Lentils, pumpkins, I can’t get excited with seeds,” he said, according to the BBC Radio 1. “I don’t want to sit down and eat a nut roast. I need meat, fish and chicken.”

Sigh…Maybe the next veg escape will be more titillating.

Gordon Ramsay has just completed his tour of India, where he filmed his reality TV series Gordon’s Great Escape.

As previously reported, Gordon’s Great Escape features Ramsay cooking and enjoying mostly vegetarian food in Indian culture.

Uh-oh.

The same Gordon Ramsay who joked about electrocuting his children on a fence if they turned vegetarian or dated one?

Yes, the same Gordon Ramsay who stated, “There’s no bigger pain anywhere in the world than a vegetarian.”

Ramsay is reportedly a fan of pescatarian Indian food-seafood curry.

Let’s hope the tour made him a lover of veggie samosas and lentil dhal too.

Gordon’s Great Escape will air on UK’s Channel 4 early next year.
