The vegetarian and pro-animal actress said:

“I am pretty tough, but watching this disgusting process [in a video] brought me to tears. My ice skating may not have won a popularity contest in Britain, but I love the U.K. and its reputation as a nation that opposes cruelty to animals.”

Ricky Gervais has joined fellow actor Owain Yeoman in the fight to convince British store Fortnum and Mason to remove foie gras from its shelves.

Gervais has written a letter to officials at Fortnum, asking them to stop selling the delicacy that is obtained by forcing ducks and geese to overeat so much their livers swell abnormally.
