Gerald McCullouch made a name for himself in the acting business playing gun expert Bobby Dawson on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He’s currently filming for the upcoming movie, BearCity.

It doesn’t take a forensic scientist to know the keys to solving the mystery of lessening the damage to the Earth lies in making several eco-conscious decisions across the board, including practicing vegetarianism.

He’s what New York Daily News calls “an occasional raw foodist” and several years ago bought and renovated a New York city apartment for only $295,000-all while keeping it sustainable and green.

“I wanted to keep my carbon footprint as low and cost-efficient as possible,” said McCullouch. “Actors sometimes have to live paycheck to paycheck, and it was important to keep my energy expenditures down.”

We’re just tickled pick that actor Larry Sullivan reads us. And even more tickled that we found out about him.

Sullivan, who Tweets @larrysullivan, is a vegetarian who’s had roles on “24,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” (wonder if he shared a veggie snack with Jorja Fox) “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” to name a few.

According to Vegan.com, after seeing one of PETA’s Kentucky Fried Cruelty’s billboards, he went on the Internet to do his research and realized he couldn’t possibly not be a vegetarian.

“Hours later, I was still at the computer crying like a baby realizing what I had been a part of for so long. I made the decision right then that I was going vegetarian. The timing was perfect. What better New Year’s Resolution than that! So New Year’s Day 2006 was the day my life (and the lives of many animals) changed for the better!”

When you think of Jorja Fox, who played Sara Sidle on the CBS series “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”, you think of her character as getting down and dirty: digging through dumpsters for evidence, feeling her way through a body cavity for a bullet, chalking down a crime scene.

She didn’t wear heels and a skirt for those scenes and most definitely wasn’t carrying a purse. But Matt & Nat, designer of vegan purses, know Jorja’s fans still like to get feminine without the leather, so they designed a series of purses named after her and come out with different designs every season.

Jorja is a vegetarian who has advocated the diet and lifestyle in order to help the environment.

Actress Jorja Fox took a break from CSI: Crime Scene Investigation in 2007, but she’ll be back for a few special episodes this fall. (Pause for fans cheering and screaming.) A quote from the vegetarian of 20 years about vegetarianism and the environment at the Animal Acres Farm Sanctuary Gala:

“I’ve been a vegetarian for a very long time, and this place, I think, exemplifies so many ways the microcosm of the macrocosm of the microcosm. If you can spend a little time with these creatures, you can connect them again to animals that you love, which I think helps everybody remember the importance of treating them humanely and with dignity. These are, you know, the lucky animals that have fallen off the backs of trucks and stuff. If you want to help the environment, go vegetarian.”
