Jesse Einseberg “Zombieland” Follows Woody Harrelson Veg Lead

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, October 2nd, 2009 in Actors, Film & TV, Food & Drink.

"Zombieland" Chicago Premiere

Jesse Eisenberg plays Columbus, Woody Harrelson‘s character Tallahassee‘s sidekick in Zombieland, as the two find creative ways to survive in a world run by zombies.

Eisenberg realizes good nutrition is essential even if you’re not hiding from zombies in an amusement park, so he takes Woody’s advice and follows a vegetarian diet like his co-star.

“I’ve admired him for many years,” Eisenberg said. “I work with a few animal rights organizations, I’ve been vegetarian for five years and I was vegan for a year. I’m not a vegan right now, but when we were filming I ate all the same food he ate.”

Of course, the whole zombie plague happened because of bad hamburgers, you know.

“At first, we weren’t sure if people would be interested in knowing the back story. And then we did the test screenings of it and realized people actually want to know where it came from.”

“So the final verdict is that it’s now like a mad cow disease. It came from contaminated hamburger, which is good because it has some kind of possible practical implications toward the food industry. Woody is really happy with that because he’s a strict vegan.”

The next time you drive by a burger joint, watch out.

Steve-O, the MTV Jackass star who’s real name is Stephen Glover, is the kind of mentor everyone needed in high school.

He’s joined forces with PETA in an anti-dissecting campaign that advises kids to “Cut Class Not Frogs.”

And who said the jackasses in class never amounted to anything when they grew up.

According to peta.org, “Every year, nearly 6 million animals, including frogs, rats, pigs, and cats” are dissected in classrooms.

Many alternative animal models exist, including frogs and pigs, and science literature indicates that these alternative methods, such as computer software, have been proven either equivalent of superior to the use of live or dead animals to help them understand biology and anatomy.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Mike White lunchtime!

Jake Gyllenhaal is in the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania filming Love And Other Drugs and lots of Jake sightings have been made by fans, with a few vegetarian rumors floating around here and there.

Jake entered the Make Your Mark Artspace and Coffee House, but they weren’t technically open for lunch yet.

“It was right before lunch, and we weren’t ready yet,” said Ms. Siebert, who runs Make Your Mark with husband Hemi Braunstein.

Unfortunately, her silly husband didn’t know he was supposed to make a vegetarian lunch on the spot for the superstar.

“My husband doesn’t know a superstar from the next guy. If someone else had been behind the counter, we would have opened up the kitchen,” Siebert said.

“We hope he comes back. I’ve heard he is a vegetarian and eats kind of healthy, and that’s what we’re all about,” she added.

You can grab a vegetarian entree at Make Your Mark during lunch hours, regardless of your celebrity status.

Rob Zombie “El Superbeasto” Daniel Roebuck Portrayal

Written by Vegetarian Star on Saturday, September 26th, 2009 in Actors, Film & TV.

Premiere Of Dimension Films' "Halloween II" - Arrivals

Actor Daniel Roebuck has worked with Rob Zombie in several movies, including Devil’s Rejects, Halloween, Halloween 2 and The Haunted World of El Superbeasto.

In El Superbeasto, Daniel was a little surprised to see his voiced lent animated character from Devil’s Rejects, TV talk show host Morris Green, was a little portlier than he thought.

”The first time Rob showed it to me I said, ‘Could I be any fatter?’ My perception of myself is that I’m just a tall guy,” says Roebuck with a laugh. ”But Rob Zombie, this skinny vegetarian, sees me as a big-faced, fat behemoth.”

Ah, don’t feel bad Daniel.

Maybe a little less meat in your diet would take off that 10 pounds the camera-even if animated-puts on.

Vegetarians do tend to be 10-20 pounds lighter than meat eaters.

And even if it doesn’t, you’ll feel healthier anyway.

Once upon a time, a hookup took place in the back of a minivan and Hillside Quickie Inc., a vegetarian institute, was the love child of the creation.

After successfully running a food shop from the minivan, many other Hillsides were spawned, including Hillside Quickie’s Vegan Sandwich Shop, Hillside Quickie’s Cafe, and Quickie Too.

Years later, Hillside is still gettin’ it on and welcomes the birth of Plum: Hillside Quickie’s New American Bistro.

Plum offers delicious vegan dishes such as Northwest portobello and tempeh crepes, apple-pecan salad, vegan sliders, and the pizza of the day complete with vegan cheese.

Woody Harrelson Turned Vegan To Cure Acne, Mucus In Throat

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009 in Actors, Food & Drink.

"Defendor" Screening - TIFF 2009

Women have quite the control over men.

Thom Yorke went vegetarian because he wanted to impress some cute chick.

And actor Woody Harrelson said he went vegan because a woman told him it would clear up his pretty face.

“The first thing was dairy,” Harrelson told Maxim magazine.

“I was about 24 years old and I had tons of acne and mucus. I met some random girl on a bus who told me to quit dairy and all those symptoms would go away three days later. By God she was right.”

That lady should be asking for royalties, considering all money Woody’s made from his beautiful clear face.

Quite a radical change from a former burgers and steak man.

“It’s been at least 20 years. I used to eat burgers and steak, and I would just be knocked out afterward; I had to give it up. ”
