Ellen Pompeo was a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where she discussed raising her own chickens in her backyard!
If you’re going to consume eggs, eating those from chicks that run freely in the grass versus being cramped in battery cages from large-scale farms is the best way to go.
Pompeo tells Ellen she lets her chicks out frequently.
“I do let them roam freely for part of the day because they get agitated if they’re all cooped up,” Pompeo said.
“They’re in the coop most of the day for their safety but they are allowed to roam 4-5 hours out of the day and they get their worms and things like that.”
Here more about the coop built by a professional and more in the clip above.
