Peter Dinklage, star of Game of Thrones, has signed on to be the spokesperson for Farm Sanctuary’s 2012 Walk for Animals.
The vegetarian actor explained in a clip posted to the event’s webpage why he chose to represent the walk that raised almost half a million for farmed animals last year.
“I am outraged by animal cruelty whenever I see it. And like you I want to do something about it. So this year, I’m serving as the national Walk for Farm Animals spokesperson.”
“Each year, billions of animals are subjected to extreme cruelty on factory farms, feedlots and slaughterhouses. The brutality that these animals endure would be grounds for felony cruelty charges if inflicted upon on cats and dogs.”
“Farm Sanctuary rescues farm animals from cruelty, provides them with lifesaving care and sanctuary, places them into adoptive homes and works to raise awareness about the devastating effects of factory farming.”
Last year’s walk produced over 4,000 walkers at 39 events. Visit Walk For Farm Animals to learn how to start or join a walk near you.
