Jamie Oliver‘s second season of Food Revolution premiers tonight at 8/7 C on ABC.
Here’s a little clip which focuses on the Los Angeles Unified School District’s decision to forbid Oliver from entering their schools and the surprising reactions from listeners to Ryan Seacrest‘s radio show. Parents of children in the school system call in to describe in every detail why Oliver should have been admitted.
One parent refuses to let her child touch the LAUSD’s school lunches, and insists on sending a home-packed lunch everyday instead. Another tells a story of children who pour sugary-filled chocolate milk over their cereal.
Later in the clip Oliver uses a map powered by the search engine Bing that allows him to break down areas of LA by health statistics, such as diabetes, fruit and vegetable consumption and exercise. There is also information on disease prevalence and birth weights. It makes a useful tool to examine the health in your area.
You can use the Bing Health Application by going to bing.com/maps/explore, clicking on the “maps app” button in the lower left hand of the screen and searching until you find the Bing Health Maps app to download to your computer.
