Alyssa Milano Can’t Understand Why Designers Use Fur

With so many advancements in warm, winter-wear technology and good looking faux furs out there, why would a designer use the real thing?
It’s something that boggles the mind of vegetarian actress Alyssa Milano.
“I’m not sure I understand, how in this day & age, some designers still use real fur in their collections,” Milano wrote on her Twitter account. “I mean, really?”
As a fashion designer herself, Milano knows how to be both chic and cruel-free.
She has a line of women’s sportswear called Fandalia that features tops, hoodies, jackets and pants with logos and designs that show support for major NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and NCAA sports teams.
Milano is not only a successful actress, she’s also a third generation designer, as her mother and grandmother both created clothing.
Milano created the line partly because she found most sportswear items were either not designed for a female body or there wasn’t enough variety in styles.
“Every game I attended, I would rush into the team shop and look to see if there was anything new and cute to buy,” Milano told MLB. “I would look for something that would fit my body and that wasn’t pink! I was always disappointed that I couldn’t find anything.”
“I wanted to create a line that women could wear anywhere and not just to a game. I wanted to bridge the game with the after-party and do for baseball what the hip-hop world did for the NBA.”

Way to go, Alyssa! There IS no reason for real fur anymore. It’s just cruelty for vanity’s sake. You go, girl!
