Propagandhi Chris Hannah Explains That Eating Humans Thing

Propagandhi makes it no secret they disagree with the concept of “humanely raised meat” as is evident through their song about roasting Sandor Katz.
Band member Chris Hannah explains what he meant about his statement that, “we do encourage people to slaughter and devour organically-fed human corpses.”
“Obviously it’s tongue in cheek,” Chris says. “People are spreading the idea around that there’s a humane way of confining, terrorizing, mutilating, killing and eating non-human animals.”
“I don’t think that’s a very good rationalization-to tend to call things Happy Meat or Humane Meat. I think it’s dishonest.”
Whew! Glad Chris wasn’t serious about cheering on cannibalism.

I’m sorry, but I’m a vegetarian too, but is there anyway to get your point across other than by making sick analogies to eating humans? I’m sure this doesn’t turn people on to the idea of eating less meat, that’s for sure.

If you find offensive the idea of roasting (in the comedic sense) Katz and his ilk for their rationalization of the slaughter and consumption of animals, then you probably aren’t going to enjoy Propagandhi’s music in the first place. Save your tut-tutting for the uninformed meat-eaters of the world. You might also want to avoid black comedy like Python, the Coen bros. etc.

It is not a sick analogy, but it is real life. If we stopped thinking that we are different from other animals, then we wouldn’t kill other animals – but humans tend to have an elitist attitude towards other species. It’s our problem for thinking that one life is tastier than another.
