Kellie Pickler Rodeo Performances: Is She A Hypocrite?

Country music star Kellie Pickler is a vegetarian and was even crowned Sexiest in this year’s contest held by PETA.
However, according to this clip, Kellie has performed at the Cheyenne rodeo for two years in a row, where animals are abused by being dragged and lassoed, among other activities.
Kellie cited her reasons becoming vegetarian as partly due to animal rights.
“A lot of it has to do with knowing what happens to the animals and it really bothered me and so I will not eat meat,” she said.
Is Kellie’s willingness to perform at such events a complete violation of her vegetarian principles?

It is very hypocritical.
But to her credit, she’s still in the beginning stages of vegetarianism/veganism.
Many people don’t get fully aware of the ethical spectrum of being a veg until several years into it.
I think that if this was pointed out to her, she would attempt to avoid doing shows like this in the future.
