Nikki Dinki is the Masterchef contestant with the flexitarian philosophy of “meat on the side.”

While many vegetarians applaud her attempt to get everyone to eat less meat, some were a little less than pleased that on a recent episode she put real meat in a burger with vegetables versus making a vegetable burger or other plant-based entree and actually putting the meat on the side.

Who says a New Year’s celebration is not the same without cheeseburger mini-sliders?

Jorge Garcia, former “Lost” actor who went vegetarian for animal rights, took to his blog to show off pictures of his vegetarian sloppy joe mix that he finished off with churros and wine.

Can you tell from the picture which one is Jorge’s?

Rachael Ray featured vegetarian sloppy joes on her daytime television show, The Rachael Ray Show, today.

Mushrooms are one of the few vegetables that provide a “meaty” texture and feel in the mouth and because of this, many meat eaters are even satisfied when sharing a dish that contain the fungi with vegetarians.

Diced portobellos are smothered in a homemade tangy tomato sauce seasoned with onions, peppers and garlic before being placed between two rolls. Don’t forget to opt for a vegetarian friendly Worcestershire sauce without anchovies.
