“Business Week” Highlights Vegan CEOs

Business Week has featured an article online that highlights the growing number of CEOs and equally powerful folks going vegan.

“Steve Wynn, Mort Zuckerman, Russell Simmons, and Bill Clinton are now using tempeh to assert their superiority. As are Ford Executive Chairman of the Board Bill Ford (F), Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, venture capitalist Joi Ito, Whole Foods Market (WFMI) Chief Executive Officer John Mackey, and Mike Tyson. Yes, Mike Tyson, a man who once chewed on human ear, is now vegan.”

Steve Wynn, entrepreneur behind the famous Las Vegas Wynn Casinos who was rumored to have turned vegan weeks ago. If there was any doubt about the rumor, it’s definitely official–Wynn’s vegan and is talking all about it at Las Vegas Weekly, from putting vegan items on his restaurant menus to how going vegan lowered his cholesterol to the DVD he distributed to all his employees that made him stop eating meat the moment he watched it, Eating.

Wynn Las Vegas

Casino owner Steve Wynn is rumored to be experimenting with the vegan lifestyle and now, it appears, according to a report from the Las Vegas Review Journal, he’s sharing the good news with all of his employees as well.

Wynn has ordered an 88-minute DVD to be distributed to all his employees at Wynn and Encore, ensuring the tapes are available in Spanish, French, German, English and adapted for the hearing impaired.

After hearing the news that casino owner Steve Wynn has mandated all his restaurants serve vegan options, we’ve discovered a source that gives more detail as to how a meat, fish, egg and dairy-free Vegas lover can satisfy themselves at his Las Vegas and Encore resorts.

We’re please to say, after looking over the offerings, there’s no sign of what Vegan.com called a “half-assed grilled vegetable plate slop” at Red 8, Okada, The Pizza Place or any of his other dozen restaurants.

But here’s a sample of what you may order instead:

At Okada: cold soba noodles; hot udon; robata grilled vegetables; fried vegetable roll with vegan tempura dipping sauce; agedashi edamame tofu; coconut lime pudding.

Las Vegas casino mogul Steve Wynn may no longer be gambling with his health. The operator of Wynn and other casinos in Sin City is rumored to have gone vegan and is extending this deal to patrons at his casinos.

Wynn has ordered every one of the restaurants on his Vegas properties to offer vegan menu items, including vegan desserts.
