Kate Mara, actress from House of Cards, in a promo video for Meatless Mondays for the the Humane Society of the United States. Mara can be seen in the animal welfare organization’s All Animals May/June 2015 magazine discussing life growing up on a farm with animals and pets, and the decision that led her to eliminate all animal products from her diet.

Kate Mara Celebrates California Prop 2 With Humane Society

House of Cards actress Kate Mara and several other celebrities attended a press conference with members of the Humane Society of the United States in celebration of the implementation of one of the largest animal protection laws in the nation.

California’s Proposition 2 took effect January 1, 2015.

It requires farmers to give crated animals such as breeding pigs and egg-laying hens enough room to comfortably move around.
