Quantcast Vegetarian StarDaniel Bryan (2)

WWE star Daniel Bryan has given Peta2 an exclusive interview, which they’ve already posted part 1 of 2 to their site.

Growing up, Bryan suffered from a weak immune system and numerous health problems, some of which caused him to miss an entire month of school at a time.

When he developed multiple staph infections a few years ago, he found a good doctor who prescribed more the medication.

Daniel Bryan Ricky Williams–Who Would You

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010 in Athletes-Games-Sports, Polls/Surveys, Who Would You.

WWE wrestler Daniel Bryan and Miami Dolphins football player Ricky Williams have made headlines this week, for in the ring and off the field performances.

Vegan Bryan recently won the U.S. WWE Wrestling competition while Ricky has been asked to endorse a set of health and fitness equipment.

So nice to see the stereotype of scrawny, vegetarian men get broken. As you can see from their pictures, neither is lacking in meat on their bones, although you’ll find it missing in their diets. Between the two athletes, who would you rather…

Daniel Bryan, the vegan poster boy of the WWE, has defeated “The Miz” to win the title of WWE U.S. Champion

Bryan was temporarily removed from the WWE several months ago, and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wrote a letter to the Chairman and CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, asking him to reinstate Bryan.

In the letter, the group emphasized that Bryan saves more than 100 animals a year by eating a vegan diet. If you think that’s impressive, you’ll be even happier to know that just by going vegetarian, it’s estimated you’ll save half of that number.

In the meantime, his opponent is still trying to save face.

Daniel Bryan has been ousted from the WWE!

Because removing a vegan from any sports competition is a major blow to vegetarians everywhere, PETA has personally written a letter to Vince McMahon, chairman and CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, asking for Bryan to be reinstated.

“Lots of athletes, including baseball slugger Prince Fielder, the NBA’s Raja Bell, MMA fighters K.J. Noons and Mac Danzig, and Olympic Legend Carl Lewis, show that vegetarians often leave meat-eaters in the dust, gnawing on their greasy chicken wings as they wonder what hit them. But Bryan represents the quintessential vegan badass.”

“WWE” Daniel Bryan On Michael Cole Vegan Mispronunciation

Michael Cole, who’s real name is Michael Sean Coulthard, made a meatless boo boo the other day on a recent episode of WWE NXT.

The World Wrestling Entertainment play by play announcer mispronounced the word “vegan.”

Wrestler Bryan Danielson, also known as Daniel Bryan or “The American Dragon,” played on this verbal feud started by Cole by addressing Cole’s ignorance on his blog.

“Yes, I am a vegan, and no, it is not pronounced vee-jan… nor is it pronounced vee-jan in any part of the world. Michael Cole simply mispronounced it on NXT, and I assume he doesn’t know what it means.”

A vegan wrestler in WWE?

Oh, hell yeah!

Bryan Dan-Dan Bryan-Dragon Man is also no geek, either.  He’s a classical book/music nerd. Got it?

More from the blog:

“For all of his talk of me being a computer geek, I suspect I spend less time on the internet than just about anyone in the WWE, including him. Unlike Michael Cole, however, I don’t feel the need to judge people who do love using the internet. It’s a great social and commercial tool that allows people to access an infinite amount of information in a matter of seconds…I am probably some sort of geek/nerd… but more of the classic book reading, record listening. Perhaps Michael Cole will get it right next week and he can rip on me more for reading Carl Sagan’s “The Varieties of Scientific Experience” than for using the world wide web. But then again, he would probably mispronounce “varieties.”
