As a vegan herself, it’s no surprise Chelsea Clinton chose to cover the ethical fashion designer Stella McCartney for a Rock Center with Brian Williams special.

The daughter of former president Bill Clinton who also went on to adopt a plant-based diet, interviewed Stella for the feature, discussing how her line of clothing that does not use leather or fur became such a mainstream hit.

Writes Chelsea at Rock Center:

“From afar, I have long admired Stella McCartney, Linda McCartney’s daughter, as someone who does all that and more – who has never used animal products in her eponymous brand and who has catalyzed the development of new luxury products that gorgeously resemble leather, fur or skin, but aren’t. Stella has also taken tremendous risks for her principles, including making clear to Gucci from the beginning she would not work with leather, a bold statement to an iconic fashion house arguably synonymous with leather, particularly from a then 29-year-old designer.”

Chelsea also has a chance to speak with Stella’s famous ex Beatles father, Paul, who although has certainly earned his own place in history, still remarks that being Stella’s dad alone is “pretty cool.”

Chelsea’s full interview with Stella and Paul can be seen on Friday, June 21 at 10pm/9CDT on NBC’s Rock Center with Brian Williams.
