Nikki Dinki Half Vegetarian Burger On “Food Network Star”

Nikki Dinki walked onto the set of Food Network Star and announced her flexitarian eating plan of “meat on the side,” as part of her quest to get people to eat more plants.
While no vegan or vegetarian will ever condemn someone for encouraging the consumption of less meat, Dinki’s most recent creation on the network reality TV show probably isn’t what most want the term “plant-based” to be associated with.
Dinki wanted to impress with her half vegetarian burger, a burger made with both meat and vegetables.
TV Latest said it best:
“Nikki Dinki’s pitch is for a semi-vegetarian burger, which makes zero sense. The burger is 70/30 veggies/meat, but no vegetarian is going to eat that.”
And could she have been a little less bashful about the tiny amount of veggies in the meat-veggie burger.
“Also, ND gets weird when talking about vegetables, as if she has committed a cardinal sin for including them in a burger challenge. Why she didn’t do a black bean burger (aside from black beans probably not being available) is beyond me.”
Dinki’s combo didn’t go well with the judges and won’t go well with most veggie activists, who will likely suggest a meaty-looking, real veggie burger like Boca.
