Paula Deen Continues To Reduce Meat And Fried Foods For Health

Paula Deen‘s type 2 diabetes diagnoses has changed her life completely.
The former queen of deep fried Twinkies and burgers topped with bacon and donuts lost over 36 pounds and is limiting some animal products from her favorite old dishes.
In the February issue of Woman’s Day, Deen gives the details on sauteing veggies without the bacon, cutting down on the mayo and increasing her intake of greens.
“Honey, I was in denial – for a couple of years,” Deen told Woman’s Day.
“I want to be here for my grandchildren. I think about them every day. My daddy was dead at 40. My mother was dead at 44. And look – I’m 65 and I’m still here! Go, 65! Waking up every morning is very exciting for me, to see what the day is going to bring.”
Deen’s currently on a Brussels sprout kick that has her sauteing the green vegetables in olive oil.
Hope she continues to respect her health, reduce more animal products and add more of her vegetarian dishes to the Deen family menu.
