Giada De Laurentiis Cooks Vegetarian For Prince William And Kate

Giada de Laurentiis had the opportunity to cater an all-vegetarian dinner for Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton.
The event was a benefit for one of the Prince’s late mother’s charities and Giada told Extra it was “one of the biggest highlights” of her career.
As expected, the main course consisted of one of the most popular and traditional Italian dishes–vegetable lasagna.
“The main course was a sweet corn lasagna,” Giada said. “I wanted to give them something that was very California inspired but also Italian traditional. Prince William won his Polo match so I’m hoping it had something to do with my wonderful lasagna.”
Although not as glamorous, Giada has also had the opportunity to cook vegetarian items for certain members of her family on a regular basis. It was her mother’s decision to go vegetarian that prompted the Food Network chef to learn to create more plant-based meals.
Giada is also a big promoter of Meatless Mondays and predicted 2012 would be a big year for vegetarianism.
