It’s a bear. It’s a boy. It’s a baby. Actually, it’s all three.

Alicia Silverstone and her husband Christopher Jarecki are now parents of a baby boy the couple named Bear Blu Jarecki. When he gets older, this bear may choose not to eat honey though, because his parents have been proud vegans for years.

Silverstone posted an entry to her blog, The Kind Life, soon after Bear arrived.

“My husband and I welcomed our 7 lb 15 oz baby boy Bear Blu Jarecki into the world on May 5th at 7:50am (PT). We are all three in love! I’m so grateful to this community for all the love, support, good wishes and happy vibes you’ve sent me during my pregnancy…it has been wonderful. Thank you all!”

The actress and author of the The Kind Diet, a book about the vegan lifestyle containing recipes like vegan peanut butter cups, has been quite active in the veg/eco/animal rights community throughout her entire pregnancy. She’s made several appearances around the U.S. for her most recent book tour for The Kind Diet, written to Google and Android in protest of a new dogfighting app and posed for Vogue magazine for a special ethical style section where she shared her favorite eco-friendly clothing brands.
