Robert Pattinson

A Cullen vampire adopting a descendant of wolves?

What would Jacob and his relatives think?!

Robert Pattinson has elevated his guy hunk/animal lover/hot dude status among women by adopting a homeless dog from a shelter that’s so overrun with strays, it has to euthanize faster than the Volturi show up when stupid vampires make a scene and risk everyone’s identities.

“It’s from a shelter and he was going to be put down,” Pattinson told the Daily Record. “I only got him two or three days ago and they only keep them for 10 days.”

The shelter is located in Louisiana, where Pattinson has been filming the final movie in the Twilight series, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

The dog is sure to keep Pattinson company while he’s away filming. And although it’s hard to believe, it is the only mammal that wants to see him while he’s shooting at a remote location.

“I know it’s sad. A lot of actors have a bunch of people who kind of just go up and stay with them for like two months, like an entourage. But my friends, their egos are too big. They’d be like, ‘I’m not part of your entourage. I’ll stay in a free hotel for a bit if it’s in New York or L.A. but I’m not going to come out to some random town in the sticks.'”

“He’s been freaked out. It’s funny. I got a private plane here (to Los Angeles) from Louisiana, where I was filming Twilight, so he came out of the shelter and the next day he’s on a private plane. A bit like Lady And The Tramp.”

Pattinson has helped reduce the estimated 4 million dogs in shelters that are euthanized every year.

Go Team Edward!

Its great that he adopted and did the right thing, but the only reason he’s getting attention for it, is because little girls squeal if he even breathes. It doesn’t take a lot to do the right thing and adopt and instead of buy. But maybe Cedric Diggory will encourage his entourage of teenage girls to adopt animals from shelters.

I think Robert Pattison deserves A LOT more credit than he is getting for this. Every day thousands of dogs and puppies (yes puppies!) are being put down in animal shelters, while thousands of movie stars spend money on their oh-so-lavish lifestyle. Robert Pattison did this because he’s a good person and believes in doing the right thing. I wish there were more ways I could thank him for rescuing this little puppy and setting a great example for his fans everywhere. THANKS!!!:-)
