Bob Barker Stays In Shape For Sex And Elephants (Video)

Bob Barker was a guest on The Craig Ferguson Show when the topic turned to sex.
“That’s what I’m staying in shape for,” the 87-year old told Ferguson.
While we can’t comment on Barker’s prowess in the bedroom, we can vouch that he’s still going strong in the animal rights world. The most recent example of Bob’s outspokenness involves him calling for the release of the elephants in a Toronto zoo, citing they need a warmer climate.
“It was never intended for elephants to be in such cold weather,” Barker told the Toronto Star. “And in captivity, the biggest cause of death for elephants is foot problems. They develop foot problems, and they become infected; that infection spreads all over their body, and they die, die much earlier than they would in the wild.”
Toronto City Councilor Shelley Carroll agrees and wants the elephants moved to a sanctuary in California.
Or, in Barker’s famous “Price Is Right” game show words, it’s time for them to “come on down.”
The California sanctuary would offer the elephants more elements of a natural habitat, including more space to roam, a mud hole and other elephants for socialization.
It’s not the first time controversy has surfaced over whether or not zoos can provide adequate environments for elephants.
One study followed 4,500 Asian and African elephants living in 270 European zoos between 1960 and 2005 as well as their counterparts living in the wild in Kenya or as working animals in Myanmar. Researchers found elephants living in the wild lived decades longer.
In zoos, many elephants are also euthanized due to arthritis and other joint issues that develop because exercise space is limited.
