Quantcast Vegetarian StarKellan Lutz Tweets On Puppy Throwing Girl And Animal Cruelty Law

Kellan Lutz, who’s worked with PETA on animal adoption campaigns, recently Tweeted his disgust with the puppy throwing girl filmed on tape tossing live puppies into a river to die.

“I’ve never been so disgusted before,” Lutz wrote. “That video is so incredibly disturbing and plain out wrong.”

“That cruelty and any cruelty to animals helpless or not is unacceptable,” Lutz Tweeted again. “I can’t get the crying puppies out of my head.”

According to Gossip Cop, a new law in Bosnia, where the woman is suspected to reside, was recently created to handle animal cruelty incidents,  requires heavy fines if the perpetrator is convicted. The Toronto Sun reports that if the girl is a minor, her parents would be fined but not face jail time.

“I’m so grateful that she has been found and even more grateful for the new law! Thank you ALL for taking a stand and using your voices against such actions as this,” Lutz wrote.

The ASPCA has a page which lists the penalties for animal cruelty by state in the United States. In the state of New York, animal cruelty is defined as the following with the following punishments:

“A person who overdrives, overloads, tortures or cruelly beats or unjustifiably injures, maims, mutilates or kills any animal, or deprives any animal of necessary sustenance, food or drink, is guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by imprisonment for not more than one year, or by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars, or by both.”
