John Tartaglia

John Tartaglia, actor and singer known for his roles in the Broadway plays like “Avenue Q”, has joined the ranks of celebrities like Leona Lewis and Simon Cowell to put his face on the Animals Matter to Me campaign from the World Society for the Protection of Animals. The campaign calls for international recognition of laws to protect animal welfare and end animal cruelty.

Tartaglia has two Cocker Spaniel rescue dogs that are also disabled, Dora and Parker, along with two shelter cats, Mia and Shanti.

“Animals have inspired many of the characters I’ve created for the stage and on television, and they have always been part of my family,” Tartaglia said. “WSPA is doing incredible things around the globe to support the protection of all animals and if anyone can push for a Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare, they can.”

Puppets get their voices from humans, and likewise, animals need a two legged friend to speak up for them. You can help by adding your name to the campaign which already includes over 2 million people. Watch Tartaglia’s PSA below.
