Quantcast Vegetarian StarGwyneth Paltrow’s Quick Chicken Gets Quick Criticism From Viva!

Gwyneth Paltrow has gained some criticism from the UK vegetarian group Viva! (Vegetarians International Voice For Animals) for demonstrating how to cook roast chicken on her Goop website.

Although once upon a time Gwyneth professed to follow a macrobiotic, vegan diet, her actions over the past year, including wearing fur for a photoshoot and demonstrating how to cook turkey for Thanksgiving, have both disappointed and disgusted her vegetarian fans.

“To hear of a so-called vegan promoting the use of chicken meat is extremely disappointing,” Juliet Gellatley, Viva!’s director, said.

“It not only condemns the cruel conditions that millions of these birds are forced to exist in, but it also shows complete disregard for the damage that the meat industry – including chicken production – is doing to an ever-fragile planet and to peoples’ health.”

“If Gwyneth wants to promote healthy eating, she should think twice about cooking chicken.”

“A medium-sized bird contains almost a pint of fat. It also releases cancer-causing compounds when it is cooked”

“We encourage Gwyneth to rethink her diet. She obviously does care, but needs nudging back in the right direction to veganism”

Yes, back to the direction of vegan B.L.T.s.

Not only all this but Gwyneth didn’t appear to wash her raw chicken hands after handling the raw chicken and then began pulling the lettuce leaves apart for the salad. And setting her salad bowl and using the same cutting board that she just cut the back out of a raw chicken on. Dangerous. She needs to watch Life In A Nightmare posted by DianeDi on http://www.YouTube.com

okay so I really like Gwyneth (I think. I of course really don’t know her) but she is a public figure doing a public cooking show. When she was done handling the raw chicken, she should have washed her hands and changed her cutting board. She only wiped her raw chicken hands on her hand towel which she also sets down on the raw chicken cutting board and later wipes even her mouth with (possible samonella contamination, even if she did wash it with kosher salt doesn’t make a difference if there are deadly germs). I hope she is going to wash her pepper and salt shakers and all ghost bottles including the olive oil bottle that she touched with her raw chicken hands. She says, “I love finding new ingredients to combine.” So I ask, does that include combining deadly raw chicken germ ingredient salmonella with salad and salad dressing? Again see for free Life In A Nightmare by DianeDi on http://www.YouTube.com and also see movie FOOD INC.

You have the intelligence of a lamppost. Obviously this is a video and obviously it was edited. It didn’t take place in real time. Just because it didn’t show her washing her hands doesn’t mean that she didn’t wash her hands.
