I think people aren’t realizing that Oprah is not a big time animal activist. She really is a publicity whore (sorry for the language). She featured theses episodes on animal cruelty and such partly because she cares about animals, but largely because it’s a much talked about issue today.
While she’s not an animal jerk, I don’t think we should be elevating this woman to activist yet. Not someone who just follows a vegan diet for 3 weeks on a fad.

Yeah she will do anything for publicity so she can laugh all the way to the bank.
