Do-It-Yourself Design Session With Nicole Richie

Nicole Richie shared seven things she does to live green on Twitter.

We knew there was no way she could share a home with vegetarian Joel Madden and eat burgers every day.

The organic loving mother of two includes the #6 way to live an eco friendly lifestyle as:

“Eat less meat and eat more local and organic foods.”

Richie also recommends riding a bike for a trip within 2 miles of your home, adding that “1 pound of CO2 pollution is cut for every mile pedaled” and composting your table scraps and avoiding bottled water.

If you’re ready to take the Meatless Mondays plunge, Martha Stewart has provided almost 100 vegetarian recipes that she’s posted on her website for Earth Week.

Nicole Richie Insists On Organic Fruits And Vegetables

Written by Vegetarian Star on Saturday, May 16th, 2009 in Actresses, Children, Food & Drink.

Esprit Santa Monica Grand Opening CelebrationLight years away from her past party life, Nicole Richie is living cleaner and healthier than ever.

She insists one-year old daughter Harlow and partner Joel Madden only consume organic fruits and vegetables. When she prepares meals for her family, it usually consists of lots of salads and vegetable stir fries.

Not surprising, considering Joel is vegetarian.

With Nicole’s new love of all things organic and veggie (she’s even growing her own organic, vegetable garden in the backyard of her home in Hollywood), and a man who doesn’t touch meat, will Nicole finally give in and go veg altogether? It surely would make things more convenient and healthier for the whole fam.

And there’s no better way to bring in expectant baby #2 in than starting it off with a plant based diet.

Best of luck to Nicole and her healthier adventures!
