When Biz Stone wants pizza delivered, he doesn’t have to worry about ordering one of those weird, cheeseless ones with only sauce and vegetables.

Stone, who is scheduled to make seitan on Martha Stewart’s special vegan episode tomorrow, is lucky enough to live near Amici’s–an East Coast style pizzeria on the West Coast in California that offers vegan pizza topped with the popular Daiya vegan cheese delivered to his door.

Daiya Cheese “Crack For Vegans” Not Widely Available In Canada

Alex Jamieson, the wife of Morgan Spurlock, filmmaker who ate nothing but McDonald’s three times a day for his documentary Super Size Me, might be caught sneaking mouthfuls of something you won’t find at the burger giant several times a day.

According to Macleans, the woman who starred as herself in Spurlocks’s 2004 film as Healthy Chef Alex called the new Daiya vegan cheese, “crack for vegans.”

The story at Macleans details the rising popularity of the vegan cheese that, although created by two Canadians, surprisingly, can’t be found in Canada and you won’t believe the reason why.

Premiere Of "Taking Woodstock" - Arrivals

The Coalition For Healthy School Lunches fundraising event held at the Peter Max Studio recently was a hit, especially with the food.

Several vegan restaurants provided goodies, including Angelica Kitchen, Ayurveda Cafe, Candle 79 & Candle Cafe, Counter4 Course Vegan, Chef Laura Dardi, Live Jolly Foods, Franchia, Fran Costigan, Luxurious Vegan Desserts, Green Bean Cafe, Chef Yoli Ouiya, Payard Patisserie, The Power of Food, Rama Sushi, Sacred Chow, Slice the Perfect Food and Stogo.

Slice, the Perfect Food made their pizza topped with vegan Daiya cheese.

Daiya won “Best New Vegetarian Product” at the 2009 VegNews “Best of Show Awards” during the Expo West Natural Products Trade Show.

Daiya vegan cheese is available in select food service establishments as well as  vegetarian food shops online.
