Sunshine Martyn revealed on an episode of Big Brother she is not of fan of soybean curd.

After being given tofu, hummus and some other items to suit her vegan diet while her housemates received pizza, she requested a pizza without cheese.

“It’s just that I hate that tofu, it’s horrible. I just didn’t feel part of it because they give me food that needs cooking and they give you pizza. Everything’s getting on top of me and I thought that I’d get a nice piece of food, and then I get a salad.”

Tofu haters who aim to be vegetarian, need not be alarmed. Contrary to the stereotype, vegetarians and vegans get their protein from many sources other than what some think looks and tastes like a make-up sponge.

Lentils, beans, legumes, chickpeas, pasta, seitan, tempeh, nut butters, trail mix, oatmeal, rice, cereals, granola, soy milk, falafel, faux meats…Need more suggstions?

Enriched grain pasta is not only low in sodium, it’s a great source of protein for vegetarians and provides a fantastic energy boost with its complex carbohydrates that are released slowly over time.
