Stella McCartney Honored By Jerry Seinfeld At Corporate Gala

Stella McCartney was honored at the Alice Tully Hall for Lincoln Center’s second annual Corporate Fund gala in New York.
Several star guests had kind words to say about the vegetarian clothing designer but it was a Q & A by comedian and actor Jerry Seinfeld that truly put the meat in a celebrity “roast.”
Seinfeld took the opportunity to joke about Stella’s cruelty-free ethics in her fashion collections, which includes not using leather or fur.
“I eat only leather and fur,” he said.
Thankfully, behind every man who jokes about a vegetarian diet is a good woman who tries to promote it.
Seinfeld’s wife, Jessica Seinfeld, is so good about sneaking veggies in her husband’s and children’s diet she wrote book about how to get away with the deed.
Still, Jessica insists that Deceptively Delicious is more about opening kids up to the idea of how good vegetables are, rather than tricking them into eating them.
She said to Parent Dish:
“There is never a moment when my kids don’t know how important vegetables are. I don’t think of them as anything scandalous or deceptive. I think what’s really deceptive is how food companies market their food as good for people when it’s not.”
The evening’s gala for Stella was anything but deceptive.
Vegetarian dishes were on the menu–with plant-based items openly listed in the titles.
