Baseball and dogs are two of America’s favorite things.
It’s easy to see why the New York Mets knew their fans would go wild during September 9th’s game against the Washington Nationals, an event where some of the tickets benefited North Shore Animal League pet shelter.
Seen here is Mets’ pitcher Oliver Perez who has obviously gone to first base with his new four-legged friend named Sassy.
Fans who purchased the special “dog ticket” package got to sit in the exclusive Pepsi Porsch area of the stadium. Their canine pets were also welcomed to attend and cheer.
A dog parade preceded the game.
The Mets for Bark In The Park at Citi Field day was one of two added to the season due to the overwhelming demand.
An additional day will take place on September 14th against the Marins.
Both human and dog tickets for the Marins game have been sold out!
