The Vampire Diaries fans will be happy to hear that season 5 of the popular CW series starts on October 3 and that the season 4 DVD series is already available!
Included in the series in a short feature on how to eat like a vampire, vegan options included.
Blood straight from the hospital is donated and the human still remains intact.
In the 3 minute clip titled “Blood, Boys, and Bad Behavior: Becoming a Vampire,” executive producer Julie Plec explains the three different feeding habits, sucking on blood donor bags being the most humane.
“The vegan diet .. straight from the hospital. You hurt no one!” Plec said.
“There’s Stefan’s famous bunny diet. Poor Thumper. And the hedonistic, bacchanalian, 7-course meal diet which, of course, Damon likes to indulge in.”
Actor Ian Somerhalder is the vampire who’s as equally nice to animals in real life as vampires who suck straight from the Red Cross.
He’s been involved in several animal welfare campaigns, including building a sanctuary that will work with children in Louisiana and improving animal cruelty laws in Canada. He was also a recipient of the Humane Society’s Wyler Award.
