“The Simpsons” Co-Creator Sam Simon Donating Money To Animal Charities

Sam Simon, co-creator of the long-running Fox cartoon The Simpsons, has been diagnosed with a terminal illness and has made the decision to donate his remaining wealth to charity.
Some of the groups that will receive a portion of what has been called “tens of millions” of dollars include those that serve plant-based food to the needy and animal welfare groups.
“I have more money than I’m interested in spending,” Simon told The Hollywood Reporter during an interview. “Everyone in my family is taken care of. And I enjoy [giving to charity] … I get pleasure from it. I love it. I don’t feel like it is an obligation.”
Money will be distributed to organizations like the Sam Simon Foundation, which rescues stray dogs and feeds the hungry with vegan food, PETA, the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and a global marine conservation organization. He’s also created a dog rescue center in Malibu that trains dogs for the deaf.
“One of the things about animal rights, which is not the only thing that I care about in this world, is that your money can bring success. I see results,” he said.

I grew up watching The Simpsons. I was just a young girl when the show first aired somewhere at the end of good old 1987. I have good memories of it. We’d always watch it with the whole family. My dad enjoyed it as well. I still watch it to this very day. I’ve seen almost all episodes.
Thanks, Sam Simon, for your timeless creation. It is very noble of you to donate your money to animal charity. I love animals as much as I love The Simpsons.
