Ke$ha On The Humane Society Wyler Award
Written by Vegetarian Star on March 29th, 2013 in Animal Issues, Female Singers.
Ke$ha was the 2013 recipient of the Humane Society’s Wyler Award, meant to honor a celebrity or other famous person for their work in the animal welfare industry.
“I think that celebrity and fame is all very weird,” Kesha said in an interview. “Except when you can lend a voice to something you really care about.”
The pop singer discussed her passion for spreading awareness about various animal issues, such as shark finning.
Before she became famous for her vocals, she used her personal actions to demonstrate where she stood on animal rights.
She and her mother still rescue street dogs and help them find loving homes
“It’s in my family. It’s our blood. We rescued dogs before I was a singer. We’re used to saving animals.”
