Steve-O has an interview with Rolling Stone magazine where he discusses his vegan diet, his work with animal rescue and welfare organization Farm Sanctuary and his thoughts on letting everyone know how their burgers actually make it to their favorite restaurants.
Here are a few highlights:
On craving a cheeseburger every now and then
Sure, man. I miss fuckin’ Whoppers, but I also miss eight-balls and ganja. But I find being a vegan so rewarding that it’s worth it for me.
On getting involved with Farm Sanctuary
I don’t go around lecturing people and telling them they shouldn’t eat meat. I just don’t think that’s terrible effective. I just try to tell people how I have personally benefitted from the vegan lifestyle. People work really hard to stay ignorant. If they didn’t, if they watched this fucking video that I narrated, I think that a great number of them would stop eating meat.
On more people going veggie if they visited a slaughterhouse
Absolutely. Absolutely. It’s commonly said that if slaughterhouses had clear glass walls nobody would eat meat. I think people go out of their way to remain ignorant about how factory farm animals are treated.
