Fran Drescher continues to be an advocate for greener living.
In addition to regular media discussion about her vegan diet, Drescher speaks out on the products and chemicals we use in everyday life that may put us at risk for cancer.
Her Cancer Schmancer charity is currently lobbying to pass a bill to include labels that indicate if an item is non-carcinogenic or not.
“Not everyone went to MIT and can read an ingredient label,” Drescher said. “The best cure for cancer is to not get it in the first place. We want to prevent cancer by eliminating the causes.”
The actress recovered from uterine cancer several years ago and her tale can be found in her book, Cancer Schmancer.
Cancer Schmancer has a website filled with information the consumer can arm themselves with to better protect their health, including prevention and detection, common ingredients linked to the disease and of course, healthy, plant-based recipes with good for you nutrients that may ward off several ailments, cancer included.
