Dresden Dolls’ Amanda Palmer Thankful For Vegan Tweets

Amanda Palmer of the Dresden Dolls has used online media to fuel the band’s success, utilizing Kickstarter to raise money for a new album or reaching out to her more than 500,000 Twitter followers to spread the word about the Dolls’ music news.
And it’s awfully nice when the online community gives her a shout back, especially during a hunger moment.
“If I’m in a city and I Twitter for a good vegan joint for dinner, I’ll get 200 responses, and I’ll answer and say thank you,” she said. “Those interactions create the environment and the community where something like this happens. All that connecting, all that talking, all that being an authentic human being with needs and a life, instead of a picture of a pop star on a billboard.”
Or at least a less hungry pop star on a Billboard.
