Seattle Seahawks Deuce Lutui Weight Loss With Vegan Diet

Vegan athletes are great.
Vegan athletes who shed over 100 pounds on a vegan diet and go public about it are even better.
Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman Deuce Lutui once failed a team physical for the Bengals after weighing in at 396 pounds. Now he’s down to a slimmer 208 and his coach Pete Carroll couldn’t be more proud.
“Deuce Lutui, he is a joy to have out here,” Carroll said. “He has got such a great spirit. He always did. We looked at opportunities to get him on this club just because of that. He looks good. His weight is down — I mean, way down from where he can be. He’s a vegan, too, now, so he has really made a big turn, if you can imagine.”
NFL has placed Lutui in its “list of top 10 NFL vegans,” but cautions it needs “a few minutes” to “source the other nine.”
Vegetarian Star will help by naming at least one of them: Ricky Williams, who’s career has spanned NFL teams from the New Orleans Saints to the Miami Dolphins.
