NASCAR has been greened before. Vegetarian Leilani Munter frequently uses her star status to encourage fans to recycle at the pit. And now, another big name in race car driving is urging speedway lovers to lighten both their footprint and possible their waistline.
Danica Patrick‘s Fit Fuel menu for this week’s Bank of America’s 500 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina will feature several vegetarian items.
Meatless fare includes a veggie burger, fruit and veggie cups, a veggie chopped salad, Clif Bars and Luna Bars. These items will be offered exclusively at the Ford Grandstands concession in Section K.
“For me, it’s important to always eat healthy and balanced meals so I have enough energy for the task at hand,” Patrick said. “My Fit Fuel menu is loaded with healthy options, so fans can make smart choices about what they eat when they’re enjoying the races.”
The items are a nice contrast to some of the not so vegetarian selections available, such as the Funnel Backonator–a funnel cake covered in bacon pieces.

Way to go! I’ve been vegetarian since 1964 and vegan since 1987. My whole family is vegan; kids since conception. This is the future, Get used to it. Compare cow farts/belches to total car exhaust? Cows are worse!
