Looking for the best veggie burger in New York?
It may not be located in the grocer’s freezer, according to two recent articles by the New York Times and The Village Voice. The two publications gave their opinions on where to get your Meatless Monday patty on when you don’t want to cook it for yourself.
5-Napkin‘s black bean creation made it on both the Times and Village Voice’s top picks as #2 and #1, respectively.
What’s great about 5-Napkin is these guys have several locations not only in New York (Astoria, Hell’s Kitchen, Upper West Side), but also one in Boston.
The 5-Napkin veggie burger is “housemade with 5N sauce, b&b pickles, lettuce & tomato, multi grain roll.”
What the heck is “N” sauce? The Village Voice describes it as a combination of “Russian dressing and tartar sauce.”
The patty will costs you $10.95 at lunch and $11.95 at dinner.
Best restaurant name would have to go to the V-Spot, a completely vegan restaurant in Brooklyn that has several vegan patties, including a “California Burger,” a “Hawaiian Burger” topped with pineapple and tempeh bacon and the “Classic Bacon Cheeseburger” that comes will tempeh bacon and is topped with Daiya vegan cheese.
What’s for dinner tonight? New York vegetarians don’t have to settle for the portabello sandwich. View both the Village Voice and New York Times top picks for veggie burgers in the Big Apple.
