Wynonna Judd knows the millions of cats and dogs waiting in shelters across the country want nothing more than to be “Loved By You.”
That’s why she’s teamed up with the North Shore Animal League America to launch the 2011 Tour For Life, a cross country trip done by the group to encourage pet adoption.
During the tour, which kicks off Saturday, March 19, 2011, two mobile adoption units will travel 13,000 miles across the country. The units will partner with over 100 local shelters and rescue agencies in 37 cities and 19 states. The goals of the tour are to both educate and find homes for thousands of animals.
“My pets have always been a very important part of my life,” Judd said. “They are loyal, non-judgmental and offer unconditional love. Being the spokesperson for Tour For Life gives me an opportunity to encourage other Americans to share the same happiness.”
“When considering a new family member, please stop by a local shelter and rescue a homeless pet, they will be eternally grateful to you for saving their life.”
The North Shore Animal League America is the world’s largest no-kill rescue shelter that has operated since 1944.
