Andre Carthen has had the honor of pleasing Janet Jackson‘s taste buds as her personal chef.
Some of Jackson’s favorite recipes, including Quinoa Breakfast Burritos and Whole Wheat Fruity Breakfast bars, are included in her new book, True You: A Journey to Finding and Loving Yourself.
Carthen appeared on The Today Show to demonstrate some of the meals he’s cooked for Janet to help her stay true to her healthier self.
Carthen first makes the quinoa burritos, a vegan recipe using kidney beans and nutritional yeast for extra protein and vegan mayonnaise like Vegenaise combined with salsa and avocado for the sauce.
He then demonstrates cooking a soup containing carrots and yams that is flavored with rosemary.
All four recipes featured on the show can be found here.
