Sarah Palin Is A Vegetarian Inspiration
Written by Vegetarian Star on February 2nd, 2011 in Animal Issues, Food & Drink, Politicians, Reality TV.
She beats fish. Shoots caribou. Likes shooting wolves from the sky. Says “Bambi’s mother is dinner” and that there’s “plenty of room for all of Alaska’s animals” next to the mashed potatoes on her plate.
Man, is Sarah Palin a great inspiration to vegetarians. No, really.
In a post written at vegetarian.about.com, readers were invited to reveal the moment that made them go veg.
One person who had been a pescatarian for several years watched an episode of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” reality series that showed the former Alaska governor beating the crap out of a halibut that she would later gobble up with the family.
“I became a pescetarian about 4 years ago,”the reader wrote. “I never felt eating animals was right. I feel most people who eat meat are ignorant as to what took place for them to be eating that steak or chicken breast. I stopped eating fish after flipping through tv channels and catching a glimpse of Sarah Palin’s “Alaska” where they pretty much cut a fish up.”
“Sarah Palin’s Alaska” was cancelled, so one can only guess how many more vegetarians Palin would have converted with her antics.

I’m glad that moron convinced some people to give up eating flesh. However, FISH IS MEAT. The reader who said, “. “I never felt eating animals was right. I feel most people who eat meat are ignorant as to what took place for them to be eating that steak or chicken breast.” was obviously ignorant themselves, because those fish are tortured. Along with all the animals that are caught in the nets with them, who suffocate and are thrown back into the ocean, dead or dying. Plus fishing is rapidly destroying the marine ecosystem.

I have a lot of friends who call themselves vegetarians and fight for animal rights all the time, but still eat sushi.
Even after watching The Cove, I couldn’t convince my best friend to stop. Although I think she is slowly easing out of it.

Sushi is the Japanese word for vinegared rice.. you should be specific in the ingredients or exact name of the “sushi” your friend eats (as there are hundreds of different types of sushi), because not all ingredients used in sushi is fish or non-vegan/vegetarian.

I know what ‘sushi’ means lol, but when people say ‘sushi’ here, they are usually refering to the raw fish wrapped in rice and seaweed. My ‘vegetarian’ friends eat the raw fish kind.
